An Open Evening is held each October for prospective parents. Our Head of Year 7, Mr Rob Rudge, will visit all partner primary schools throughout the year. During the Summer further opportunities to make visits to the school are arranged for new pupils and parents. Details and dates are published on our website and parents informed via partner primary schools. The Headteacher is happy to meet parents of all pupils moving into the area at any time by appointment.
The admissions limit for September 2017 is 146.
As required by the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, the school has a policy available from the school or on the website which sets out arrangements for the admission and access for pupils with disabilities including an Accessibility Plan.
The school’s admission policy is that enforced by the Local Education Authority. A copy of Powys LEA’s Primary and Secondary Information and Admission Arrangements is available from the school’s office or website. The Admissions Officer can be contacted at Powys County Hall, Llandrindod Wells, Powys, LD1 5LG (Telephone: 01597 826455).
Families living outside Powys will need to advise the Schools Admission Teams at both Powys County Council and Shropshire County Council should they wish their child to transfer from Primary School to Llanfyllin High School for Year 7.
