On the morning of the ninth of November the A level students at Llanfyllin High School were delighted to meet Ray Hall and Jules Rogers who own and run Newborn Whispers, a very personal and friendly local newborn photography business, based at their Llanfyllin studio. The students were shown a range of Newborn Art Photography as produced for Newborn Whispers clients. Jules and Ray shared their knowledge, explaining how to work successfully in a photography business. Students were advised on safety, marketing, equipment and the reality of being a professional photographer. The talk was enlightening and informative. I was very impressed by Ray's technical understanding of Adobe Photoshop.
The talk was very detailed and professional. In addition to Newborn Whispers, Ray and Jules also discussed their Passion4tography brand, which offers many photography related training courses as well as a range of general photography services including portraiture, family shoots, pet, equine, and commercial photography. Students were shown a wide variety of creative images styles from HDR, landscapes, event and macro photography. If you would like to know more about the work they do please see the links below. Very kindly Jules and Ray agreed to forge further links with Dan Breakwell Griffiths and Becky Steer to help aid them in their photographic careers.
Students will use the workshop to include in their coursework for their A Level qualification. It is vital that students demonstrate personal connections with the work of other artists and the opportunity to ask questions and interact with Jules and Ray was invaluable.
I am now looking forward to seeing how the students respond from the visit.
I would also like to express my gratitude to them both for taking time out of their busy work schedules to enlighten and educate us all. It was an exciting display of stunning images.
